Botanical Portraits

Nepo Nature began with a photograph I took of a garlic flower in the Cotswolds. As I looked at the image, I had the strange feeling something was missing. The answer, of course, was ears. Once I added them, the flower became a character. Each subsequent work layers couture-inspired details, jewels, and whimsical adornments onto botanical forms, blurring the line between nature and portraiture.
